John Joseph Goodrich

John Joseph Goodrich, 87, of Kondracki Lane, Wallingford, died, Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at the MidState Medical Center.

He was born in Wallingford, December 6, 1922, a son of the late Edward and Mary Chappo Goodrich and was a lifelong Wallingford resident. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army and was employed by State of Connecticut Juvenile Department until his retirement. Mr. Goodrich was a member of the V.F.W. Post #591 and a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church.

He is survived by his five sisters, Dorothy Hodas of Cheshire, Jean Stannard of Virginia, Kathleen DeCorso of Florida, Mary Placanica of Maryland, and Alice White of North Carolina; his four brothers, Frank Goodrich of South Carolina, Roy Goodrich of Wallingford, Mark Goodrich of Florida, and Robert Goodrich of New York; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Irene McMahon; and his four brothers, Harold, Edwin, Quintin and Richard Goodrich.

His family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staffs of the MidState Medical Center and Brook Hollow Health Care Center for the excellent care that they provided Mr. Goodrich.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St., Ext., Wallingford on Sunday, January 31, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
