Biography

WALLINGFORD: John E. Panczak, 90, entered into rest Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Camille N. Laurie Panczak.

He was born in New Haven, August 13, 1919, a son of the late Stephen and Anna Raslavsky Panczak. John graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1937. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Portland Golf Club for many years and enjoyed boating and fishing on Long Island Sound. Prior to his retirement he was the owner and operator of Superior Foundations of Wallingford. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp in the Pacific Theatre.

John is survived by his two daughters, Diane Bown of St. Petersburg, Fl; and her son Evan; and his daughter Deborah Panczak of Wallingford; his brother, Edward J. Panczak of North Branford; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his three brothers, George, Joseph and William Panczak.

A private family graveside service will be held at Beaverdale Memorial Park in Hamden. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
