Biography
Wallingford: Donald E. Tortorella, 66, of South Elm St. Wallingford, died unexpectedly Friday, July 16, 2010 at his home.
He was born in Bridgeport, October 28, 1943, a son of the late Domonick and Helen D. Erdley Tortorella and was a lifelong Meriden and Wallingford resident. He had been a self-employed carpenter for many years.
He is survived by his three sons, Jeffrey Tortorella of Meriden, Danny Tortorella of Maine and Thomas Tortorella of Farmington; four sisters Patricia Weronik and her husband Richard of Florida, Phyllis Falcigno and her husband Arthur of Wallingford, Sharon Adkins and her husband Joseph, and Joanne Polick, all of Meriden; a brother, Anthony Tortorella of Meriden; and several grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Gerald T. Tortorella.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wednesday, July 21, from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will be private in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis Foundation, (ALS), Westport Gallery, Westport, CT. 06880.
