Life Legacy
Lawrence C. Barrett Jr., 80, of Wallingford, CT, formerly of Milton, NY, died, Tuesday, July 27, 2010 East Haddam, CT, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved Husband of the late Marie L. Fanizzi Barrett.
He was born in Highland, NY, April 28, 1930, a son of the late Lawrence Clifford Barrett Sr. and Bertha Clark Barrett and was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He had been employed in the printing industry for many years until his retirement, and held the position of Director of Education and shop steward for the local Graphic Arts International Union.
He is survived by his two sons, Randy Barrett and his wife Angie of East Haddam, CT, and Anthony Barrett of Danbury, CT; his two grandsons, Evan Barrett of East Haddam CT, and Michael Barrett of Portland, CT; his sisters, Charlene Barrett Handel of West Haven, Terri Barrett Spilane of Middletown, CT; his brother, Garry Barrett of West Haven; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Lawrence Barrett III.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, CT, Friday, July 30, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 31, at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, 12 Main Street Milton, NY. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Marlboro, NY. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the VITAS Hospice Charitable Fund, 225 Pitkin Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.
